frequently asked questions

  • Therapy is beneficial for anyone facing problems or difficulties in life, as well as those interested in self-development and improving overall well-being. It's not just for clients with mental health issues but for anyone wanting to understand themselves better.

  • Therapy costs $270 for a 45-minute individual session and $330 for a 55-minute couples session. Psychedelic integration sessions are priced the same as standard therapy. Extended sessions are also available, with pricing details provided upon request.

  • Finding the right therapist involves considering qualifications, therapeutic approach, and comfort level. It's crucial to choose someone you trust and feel comfortable with. It is common for clients to speak with several therapists before committing to a treatment. As a licensed psychologist with 25+ years of experience and advanced degrees from Albert-Ludwig University (Freiburg, Germany) and Long Island University (New York), I provide high-quality, professional care tailored to your needs.

  • I offer free 15-30 minute phone consultations where we can get an initial “feel” for each other and start discussing your therapeutic needs and how they best could be addressed. From here, we schedule an initial therapy session, which will give you an idea of what it would be like to work with me in regular sessions. I will send you a secure link to the patient portal of my practice management website, where you will find a few forms to complete before our first online meeting. We will meet on Zoom, and I will provide a link via email beforehand. At the end of this initial session, we decide together whether and how to proceed with your treatment.

  • The duration of therapy depends on various factors, including the issues you're seeking help for, your commitment to the process, and the type of therapy you choose. Some clients benefit from short-term therapy (6-12 weeks), while others may engage in longer-term therapy lasting several months or more.

  • Yes, I currently offer telehealth services via the secure video platform Zoom. These services are available for clients in Florida and New York, providing a convenient and accessible way to receive therapy.

  • Building a sense of trust and confidence is a crucial part of the therapeutic relationship. As a licensed psychologist, I adhere to strict professional codes of ethics, including confidentiality. Your privacy is paramount, and I will not discuss what you share with others without your consent unless legally required.

  • I do not accept insurance but would be happy to provide you with statements for reimbursement by your insurance if your plan covers out-of-network providers. I offer reduced fees on a sliding scale and on a limited basis for individuals who cannot afford my full rate. I accept all major credit cards for payment.

  • Please cancel scheduled sessions at least 48 hours in advance. Otherwise, you will be required to pay the full cost for the session.
